Gang Consultant & Expert Witness - Superior & Federal Court System

  • Provides Consultation, Education and Expert Witness Testimony for Attorneys in the Criminal Court Systems.

Gang Consultant – San Diego Office of Education, Present

  • Provides training on how to prevent teen relationship violence and sexual assault, young girls’ risk factors, and gang prevention.


Provides Resource for Probation – San Marcos Prevention Coalition, and Leaders of Change in Southeast San Diego

Provides Emotional Literacy Training – Carlsbad Police Department Juvenile Diversion Program

Founder and CEO – Project A.W.A.R.E Enterprises, INC., June 2005 – Present.

  • A.W.A.R.E stands for Attitude When Angry and Resolving Emotional Issues non-violently, and helps youth to take charge of their lives and their reactions to emotions.
  • Under Project A.W.A.R.E., Reggie makes a difference in the lives of over 200 under probation youths every year.
  • Reggie provides emotional literacy skills for youths to help them to make better choices in life at Juvenile Court and Community Schools; San Diego County Office of Education; and the San Diego, San Marcos, and Vista Unified School Districts.
  • Reggie is the first African-American ex-gang member to receive a parole date the first time he stepped in front of the Board of Prison Terms. He is a living example of the change program A.W.A.R.E. promotes.


Intern – Mental Health Systems, HOPE through Recovery Program at RJ Donovan Correctional Facility, San Diego, CA, September 2000 – October 2005. 

  • The “HOPE Through Recovery Program” provided a teaching and therapeutic environment to men during their incarceration in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
  • Clocked 10,088 hours of work experience in formalized curriculum, anger and stress management, therapeutic work assignments, group and individual counseling, life skills, self-help meetings, and practicing the formation of positive support systems imperative for future personal growth.
  • Received individual Clinical Supervision at the minimum interval of one hour weekly for a total of 247 hours Clinical Supervision.



QUALIFICATIONS

Group Counselor

  • Conducts outreach activities for at-risk youth throughout San Diego County.
  • Facilitates discussions on life skills, health related agendas, and STDs.
  • Leads small and large groups in anger replacement and creative conflict resolution.


Awareness Trainer

  • Provides gang awareness training to educators, the San Diego community, and law enforcement.
  • Leads substance abuse prevention and consequences measurement program.
  • Conducts awareness program on cultural differences for diverse youth groups in San Diego community.


Educational Program Developer

  • Developed an education curriculum on Emotional Literacy, Anger Management/Replacement/, and HIV-AIDS and STD awareness.
  • Created and facilitated outreach plans and goals.
  • Provided consultation for community based organizations, and for youths under probation and parole.
